SeaTrust Institute was honored to have Dr. Wilson designated as a Delegate at the Gusi Peace Prize ceremony in Manila, Philippines in November 2007. She supported Dr. Farland's Stanley, archaeologist at the University of Oklahoma, in his acceptance of the Gusi Peace Prize award. Dr. Wilson was interviewed on an international television broadcast about SeaTrust Institute and its mission which aired in over 30 countries.
Dr. Wilson met with another Gusi Prize awardee, Elias Chin, Vice President of Palau about the potential for a student exchange between Palau and Washington's coastal communities. Palau is located just North of the country of New Guinea and is a tropical, coral reef ecosystem already experiencing effects of climate change and rising sea levels.
